Meet Louis Foster

Louis Foster is an Indycar driver with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.


After dominating the 2024 Indy NXT Championship Louis will be racing in the NTT Indycar by Firestone series in 2025.


Louis, originally from Odiham in Hampshire, UK, is the son of former British Touring Car Championship racer Nick Foster. Louis graduated into car racing on the back of a successful karting career and displayed his talent immediately with securing the Rookie Championship in the 2017 Ginetta Junior Winter Series.


In the 2018 Ginetta Junior Series he secured the Rookie Championship and was Vice Champion overall with an impressive list of record breaking results. 2019 saw Louis make his debut in single seaters as he contested the British F4 Championship with Double R Racing and he finished his multiple race winning season in 3rd place.


In 2020 Louis rejoined Double R Racing as he stepped up to the BRDC British F3 Championship where an impressive season long performance earned him the Rookie Championship and 3rd Place overall. For 2021 Louis raced in Europe with Motopark in Euroformula Open and finished runner up during which he won a record treble at Spa Francorchamps.


2022 saw Louis move to the USA and race in the Indy Pro 2000 series with Exclusive Autosport. Racing on Street Circuits and Oval’s for the first time Louis impressed all season long taking the Championship in dominant fashion.


Louis moved to Indy NXT for 2023 where he raced with the Andretti Global team.


After an impressive rookie season in Indy NXT Louis returned for his sophomore year again with Andretti Global. This time totally dominating the series with 7 pole positions, 8 races wins, 7 fastest laps and 12 podiums. Winning on street circuits, road courses and ovals, with an incredible record on the Ovals in 2024 winning all 4 races, and showing incredible consistency with finishing in the top 2 in the last 11 races.
