I can’t quite work out where to start with this weekend!
We had practice on Thursday which went really well for me, after a few issues in FP1 James my mechanic sorted out the brakes and we ended up top of the leaderboard with fastest lap which gave me confidence for the weekend ahead.
Friday I was back at school while my mates went to Alton Towers! Which was a bit annoying.
Saturday was a wet race, which I actually enjoy. Started in P3 after a good quali, it was fortunately fairly uneventful for me, but teammate Adam (Smalley) unfortunately had an off which promoted me to 2nd overall and top rookie. I was delighted to get my first overall podium.
The second race on Saturday was a bit drier, and I had a fun time attacking and defending for 3rd overall and again top rookie, which was just amazing.
Sunday was cold but dry, again I started P3 (you start where you finish in race 2) and got a good start to stay in P3, but dropped down a bit with some tussles between a few other drivers. I aimed to keep out of mischief and try to attack once it had all calmed down after a few laps, unfortunately for Adam and Fin (Green) they had a connect which worked out well for me and I managed to claw my way up to 2nd behind Luke (Browning) and challenged for the lead then I managed to swap places with Luke once or twice before finally managing to keep him behind me to take my FIRST WIN!!! Absolutely loved my race with Luke, he was great to battle with. Really pleased to see my wingman James (Hedley) fight through the pack too. Awesome end to a great fun weekend.
