This weekend Louis Foster will head to Snetterton Circuit, Norfolk, for the next round of 2019 British Formula 4 competition, where he currently sits second in the Drivers’ Championship.
The competition in the championship this year has been incredibly tight and competitive, and Louis has made his mark on the season in his debut season of single-seaters. The Copart-sponsored driver has totted up six podiums – including three sensational victories – over the five weekends of competition to date.
The last round at Oulton Park was a weekend of mixed fortunes for the Hampshire-based young talent as he battled mechanical issues. It was, in fact, the first race weekend in his career where he hadn’t picked up silverware. Nonetheless, Louis scored a strong haul of championship points, and a fastest lap, to add to his respectable current season total.
As Louis looks forward to Snetterton, he can reflect on the previous celebrations he has had at the venue before.
The Vansdirect-sponsored driver has an impressive track record at the circuit. Last year in the Ginetta Junior Championship – en route to becoming vice-champion – Louis walked away from the round with two podiums and the fastest lap of the first race.
As the weekend approaches, a new challenge awaits for Louis as he races his Double R Racing British F4 car for the first time at the 2.97-mile Snetterton 300 Circuit.
“I love racing at Snetterton as it is such a fun and demanding track to go racing at,” Louis said ahead of the weekend. “The championship fight is really hotting up now, and I am determined to close the points gap to Zane Maloney this weekend.
“Oulton Park proved to be a frustrating weekend although there were still many positives to take away from it. My focus is definitely on a bounce back and hopefully, I will be returning to the podium this weekend!”
Louis’ weekend will commence with qualifying at 10:55 on Saturday 3rd August, before race one follows at 15:45. On Sunday, Louis can look forward to another two outings – with race two at 12:15 and race three at 16:40 respectively. Sunday’s action will be broadcast live on ITV4.
