The Knockhill Double

28th August 2018

Louis Foster does the double at Knockhill For Immediate Release: 27 August 2018

Rising star Louis Foster produced a stunning performance on track to take a pair of race wins in the latest rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship season at Knockhill.

The 15-year-old Lord Wandsworth College student from Odiham made the trip to Scotland keen to build on a near perfect weekend in the previous meeting at Rockingham, where he picked up two victories from three races at the wheel of his Elite Motorsport-run car.

Having qualified in second place on the grid for the opening race, Louis produced a near faultless drive in tricky wet conditions when the action got underway.

Jumping into the lead at the start, he would run unchallenged at the front of the field after an early safety car period, and wrapped up his fourth win of the year by a margin of more than five seconds.

Starting race two of the weekend from pole position, Louis would once again impress in tricky wet conditions to lead from start-to-finish and secure a second victory, giving him a maximum score of 70 points from the trip to Scotland.

With an impressive 14 overall podiums from 20 races now under his belt, Louis sits second in the championship standings before dropped scores are taken into account, with two rounds and six races still to run.

“Coming into the weekend having not raced here before, I was hoping to fight for a podium finish so to come away with two wins is just great,” he said. “I have to say huge thanks to the guy at Elite Motorsport and particularly my mechanic James for giving me a great car that has allowed me to do the job on track. I also have to thank my sponsors including Carwow and Vansdirect for their continued support.
“It was hard to lead from the front in both races as although the spray behind was hindering the other drivers, I had to work out where the grip was on every lap and was going in blind; there was no chance to relax.
“I’m keeping the pressure on in the title race and it’s shaping up to be an exciting end to the season. Hopefully we can push for more wins in the final two rounds.”
